The torrefaction process gives the wood a uniform chocolate brown colour and the grain is quite coarse and strikes a strong resemblance to oak. Usually fairly straight-grained, you occasionally will find curly or figured boards. Roasted White Ash works really well with both hand and power tools and it takes both glue and finish well.

Common Uses: Flooring, millwork, boxes/crates, and other turned objects such as tool handles.
