If you’re just starting out with cutting boards, American Black Cherry is one of the best woods you can choose.

Known for its warm reddish-brown colour that deepens with age, Cherry adds timeless beauty and elegance to any cutting board project. It’s a durable yet easy-to-work-with hardwood, making it a favourite for both beginner woodworkers and seasoned pros.

Each blank measures 1-3/4" thick x 1" wide x 26" long (allowing for a variation of +/- 1/4") and is kiln-dried and surfaced on all four sides. That means it’s ready for glue-up right out of the box, with no sanding or planing required.

Use American Black Cherry on its own for a classic look, or pair it with contrasting woods like maple or walnut from our cutting board wood packs to create a custom design that stands out.
